Biography

Doug Rivera brings over 20 years of general legal experience to O’Keefe, Rivera & Berk, LLC. In 1993, Doug started his legal career at the law firm of William G. Schur & Associates where he focused his practice in bankruptcy law, real estate transactions, and litigation. Later, Doug joined the law firm of Evans, Loewenstein, Shimanovsky & Moscardini, Ltd. (ELSM). During Doug’s tenure at ELSM, he also served as a staff attorney for Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc, now known as Legalshield. From 2008 to 2013, Doug was Senior Counsel at Nicor Gas Company in Naperville, IL, where he managed legal operations throughout the United States. Prior to starting the law firm of O’Keefe, Rivera & Berk, LLC, Doug re-joined ELSM and was of counsel to the firm for over a year.

Doug became a partner at O’Keefe, Rivera & Berk, LLC in June, 2015. He still focuses his practice in the areas of bankruptcy, real estate, and litigation.

He is dedicated in helping his bankruptcy clients tackle their financial problems and his real estate clients to experience a smooth and seamless real estate transaction. Both Doug and the law firm of O’Keefe, Rivera & Berk, LLC provide the highest level of customer service to their clients.
